Instructor/Assistant/Associate Professor of Education

The Simpson College Education Department has one full-time faculty position open. Applicants with a master’s degree would be considered for a non-tenure track instructor position. Applicants with a Ph.D. or Ed.D. (ABD candidates included) will be considered for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant or associate professor. Due to the education and experiences of current faculty, this position may focus on special education or early childhood special education. This position requires successful teaching in a special education or early childhood special education setting. Preferred candidates will have exemplary teaching at the college level, integrate instructional technology in courses, be dedicated to multicultural education, and support the department mission. Course load may include foundational courses in addition to special education or early childhood courses.

The position will begin August 2017, and requires a minimum of a master’s degree (with a Ph.D. or Ed.D. preferred), interdisciplinary interest, and experience and/or expressed interest in working at a primarily residential, liberal arts institution. Candidates for the position must demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching and a willingness to engage students in scholarship, research and/or creative work. Faculty members at Simpson College are expected to participate in faculty governance, student advising, new student recruitment and in other ways that demonstrate support of the mission of the institution.
